National Vegetation Classification

The National Vegetation Classification, NVC, is the culmination of many years of detailed survey and analysis of British vegetation, setting the standard for future assessment of British plant communities. The courses within this section use a wide range of habitats to introduce the principles and practice of NVC. They cover the background, structure and development of NVC, field surveys and data collection and methods of analytical techniques associated with the classification. Some of these courses involve a reasonable amount of walking to access sites and therefore require a moderate level of fitness.
