Additional Course Information

Almost 50 species of univalve molluscs live in UK fresh and brackish waters. This course is designed for countryside professionals and amateur naturalists interested in learning more about these important members of aquatic ecosystems.

Field excursions, illustrated talks and workshop sessions will provide information and practical experience in collecting, identifying and preserving water snails.

Identification sessions will be backed up with a reference collection of voucher specimens and photographic reference material. Up to date keys and reference data on species habitat and conservation importance will be provided for future use.
