  Professional Development Course.

Preston Montford Field Centre is situated close to the banks of the River Severn where a good range of marginal wetland and river valley species of moths may be observed. There will be daytime visits to a variety of habitats to observe late summer butterflies. The course will cover aspects of butterfly and moth identification, trapping and information on the national notable species and life histories, and suggest methods to encourage these fascinating insects and their close relatives into our gardens.

David Brown is a former teacher and is the Warwickshire County Recorder for butterflies and moths. During the last 35 years he has lectured at Warwick and Birmingham Universities and has run residential courses for the FSC and the Adult Residential Colleges Association. He regularly writes for the national journals The Entomologist's Record and Atropos and is author of The Larger Moths of Warwickshire.
