September is an ideal time for trees as not only are they still in leaf but also have their fruits to aid identification. On this fascinating tree identification course participants will visit a number of sites in the Forest identifying many local tree species.

The course will be of particular interest to those who have a limited knowledge and would like to know how to recognise common and less common trees, but will also be suitable for those who have some knowledge of trees and tree identification but would like to learn more.

This course runs from 9.30am to 4.30pm and includes lunch at a local public house. Participants are encouraged to bring any tree identification books they have.

John has for many years been interested in trees and during 1988 he surveyed the trees in Epping Forest which fell during the storm October 1987.
