Well over 1,200 species of fungi have been recorded from Epping Forest, some of which are easily recognised. This general interest course will focus on how to identify mushrooms and toadstools in the field, their role within broadleaved woodlands and the basic tips for identification of some of the commonly found species. A digital camera is a useful recording tool and x10 lens is invaluable to help examine the details of the specimens found.

This Fungi course runs from 9.30am to 4.30pm and includes lunch at a local public house.

Tricia Moxey has a long association with Epping Forest and has recently edited Favourite Trees, a book celebrating the 50 winners of a district wide competition about its special trees. She is a qualified botanist and freelance lecturer and enjoys sharing her interests in flowering plants, trees and fungi with others.
