FSC Dale Fort in Pembrokeshire will host their annual Marine Research Symposium on 14th March 2020, which is a fascinating event showcasing marine and coastal ecological research, monitoring, surveys and conservation initiatives.

The Symposium consists of a series of talks, posters or workshops on past and current marine research being carried out in and around Pembrokeshire and further afield, along with an afternoon field excursion to explore the local wildlife and shoreline.

Attending the event

More details about the programme and how to book will follow. FSC Dale Fort is able to offer B&B accommodation for those travelling from further afield.

Call for abstracts

We are currently calling for the submission of short abstracts from people who would like to give presentations or posters. The presentations would be about 30 minutes long. They can be on any theme related to the marine environment, either local to Pembrokeshire or further afield, or they could be on an interesting conservation project (either past, current or planned).  There is the opportunity to have presentations published in the Field Studies Council eJournal: Field Studies.

To propose a paper/poster or book a provisional place/accommodation please contact Helen Lewis email: [email protected]

Please send in a presentation proposal in the form of a title and short abstract (max 150 words), giving some background details about yourself. Last year we were over-subscribed with presentations and so the final decision on speakers will be made to ensure a balanced programme for the day. Let us know if you would be able to give a longer key-note speech.  Deadline for abstracts is Friday 17th January.
