Autumn activities for children and families

Have your pupils ever built a den, took a look inside a tree, set up a snail race or made a grass trumpet?
Encourage your pupils to get outside this Autumn to tick off some of the activities on the National Trust’s list of the 50 things to do before you are 11 ¾.

Epping Forest Field Centre has a range of fun activities happening throughout the school holiday for your pupils and their families.
Here’s a few things they could tick off their list this Autumn:
• Hunt for creepy crawlies
• Follow a Highway man’s trail
• Explore the “Freaky” Forest
• Have a snail race
• Build a shelter in the Forest
• Investigate the wonders of Autumn
On Tuesday 30th October there is a pond dipping event for families to find out what lives in our ponds. Each family/group will be given guidance on how to pond dip safely and successfully, then allowed to dip at their leisure. There will be a member of staff available to help with pond dipping and identification of species.

Hunt for bugs

Build a raft and a den

The events described above are just a taster of what we have going on! For more details about how children and their families can discover the plants and animals that live in Epping Forest visit our website or call 0208 502 8500.
