Easter Family Fun

Spend time outdoors this Easter and take part in activities that the whole family will enjoy. Work together to find out more about the wildlife in Epping Forest.

On Tuesday 3rd April there is a drop-in pond dipping day. Bring your family to the Centre on between 1pm and 4pm to find out what lives in our ponds. Each family/group will be given guidance on how to pond dip safely and successfully, then allowed to dip at their leisure. There will be a member of staff available to help with pond dipping and identification of species.

On Saturday 14th April join us for a Family Bats Walk. The course will include a brief introductory talk about the type of bats participants might expect to see, an illustrated talk about bats and a chance to see bat specimens close up in the classroom. Around dusk, a well known site for bat spotting will be visited and participants will have a chance to spot some bats. This course will run from 7pm - 9.30pm.

Places on the family courses and drop-in-days must be reserved in advance. Please ring 02085028500 to make a booking or visit the website.

Epping Forest Field Centre offers a range of activities for families and children throughout the year including safaris and birthday parties. Research by Ipsos MORI for UNICEF UK has shown that children in the UK feel their happiness is dependent on having time with a stable family and plenty of things to do, especially outdoors. This research follows on from UNICEF's report in 2007, which ranked the UK bottom in child well-being compared to other industrialised nations. We hope that by delivering a range of fun courses and events we will encourage families to spend lots of time together.
