New Courses

Visit our centre this autumn to experience the Forest at its most colourful and experience our new and improved science and geography courses.

November is a wonderful time to visit Epping Forest with lots to discover, observe, measure and record all set in a stunning array of colour. (And if its river studies that you are looking for then the streams are so much more likely to have flow in November than in the summer). And this autumn we can offer great new courses.

A level courses
The A level courses are designed to meet the needs of the AS and A2 specifications. Students have the opportunity to carry out individual investigations, develop an understanding of the subject and use practical fieldwork techniques. We also offer individual student days for small groups of AS or A2 level students or individuals who have missed fieldwork trips or require further practical knowledge.
(AQA biology, Edexcel biology, OCR biology, OCR geography, Edexcel geography, AQA geography)

Secondary science courses (KS3 science, KS4 science)
Our new range of GCSE science courses for 2011 meet the requirements of AQA, OCR, Edexcel and WJEC specifications and offer students a valuable experience of practical fieldwork and enquiry based outdoor learning. The courses now on offer include ‘Classification and Biodiversity’, ‘Woodland Ecology’ and ‘Pollution Indicators’.

Secondary geography courses (KS3 geography, KS4 geography)
Our GCSE geography courses are designed to meet the requirements of GCSE specifications including Controlled Assessments. In addition to river based Controlled Assessments, the Centre also offers ecosystems and visitor impact themed assessments.

Primary courses (KS1 and KS2)
Our new primary course ‘People and Epping Forest’ enables Year 5 and 6 pupils to investigate human use of the Forest and consider how recreation impacts the Forest. This course and all our other courses for primary school children are designed to meet the needs of the National Curriculum.

In addition to the courses above we also offer custom made courses that are tailored to your requirements.
