You don’t have to leave London to be inspired by the natural world
FSC has taken the decision to find ways to replicate its quality educational experiences within the quite often under-valued natural spaces within London and has teamed up with The Royal Parks to deliver courses for school groups from Bushy Park, Greenwich Park and the Regent's Park.

Developing urban fieldwork
Environmental understanding means more to FSC than the natural world so we have been developing urban geography fieldwork opportunities and what better place to do so than at the site of the 2012 Olympic Games. Since 2010? FSC has been using the Vewtube, a classroom as close to the Olympic stadium as you can get, to deliver half-day urban geography fieldwork courses and has also developed full-day urban geography fieldwork courses using the wider Stratford area.

As part of the Olympic legacy FSC has been working towards a residential learning and education centre at the site.

FSC is a charity that aims to bring environmental understanding to all. FSC believes the more we know about and take inspiration from the world around us the more we can appreciate its needs and protect its diversity and beauty for future generations. 

One of the many ways we do this is by providing well-designed, expertly delivered educational experiences for school groups, set in some of the UK's most stunning locations.

FSC has worked with schools in London for many years, delivering innovative funded projects such as London Challenge and Eco Challenge to help give inner city young people the opportunity to experience the natural world; this sits very closely with the charity's roots which date back to 1943 when it was formed in the Natural History Museum in London. 

In the last couple of years funding for projects has become scarce but the need for young people to engage with the natural world hasn't, evidenced by National Trust’s 50 things to do before your 11 3/4 campaign and nature deficit disorder.
