Explore North Wales with Google Earth
We have developed a range of virtual tours for you to use. Students can use them to familiarise themselves with the key sites and concepts they will be exploring before they visit North Wales. Many learners also use them after a visit to help recap where they have been and what they have learned.

Alternatively, one popular exercise, using the relevant tour, is to ask students to identify the key kit they will need in different environments. They can also identify key health and safety issues in the locations they will be visiting and how these can be managed to ensure fieldwork is carried out safely.
You will need Google Earth to use these files. The free version is downloadable from http://earth.google.com/.
You can then download the above files into 'My Places' in Google Earth. You can then do a virtual fly through by pressing the play button at the bottom of 'my places'. If you want to view any of the sites marked with a pin or find out further information click on the site.
