Food

At FSC Slapton Ley, all of our food is prepared using fresh, seasonal ingredients with the emphasis on providing healthy and hearty meals for all of our guests. We use local reputable suppliers who provide ingredients of the highest quality. We have a variety of hot wholesome meals including a vegetarian option plus we have homemade cakes which are delicious to eat as an afternoon snack. We strive to maintain the high standards of our five star food hygiene rating at all times. If you have any special food requirements please let a member of staff know before you arrive at Slapton Ley Centre.

Don’t forget to bring a lunch box and a flask for any day trips out.

Accommodation

We believe at Slapton Ley that all our guests should feel welcome and at home. We realise some of our younger guests can feel vulnerable as it’s there first time away from loved ones. We strive to achieve the best and that’s why we have friendly staff that are always on hand to help.

The Centre is located on the Start Bay coast and is surrounded by Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve. The Ley is the largest natural freshwater lake in the South West. It is separated from the sea by Slapton Sands (a barrier beach and shingle ridge).

FSC Slapton Ley has four accommodation buildings: Middlegrounds, Mercer, Chell and Uplands, all of which can be separated for different groups.

We have a total of 135 beds across the four blocks that are made up of 27 dormitory rooms and 10 single or twin rooms. All but one of these rooms are en-suite and two are designed for disabled visitors. All accommodation blocks are managed by coded door locks.

There are several sitting areas for students and adults in the different accommodation blocks. We have Sky TV, a pool table, table tennis and table football. There are also three areas with hot and cold drink making facilities.

There are six workrooms all with interactive whiteboards and specialist ICT presentation equipment. The Centre also has a suite of 35 laptops and 24 tablets for student use and Wireless Internet access is available throughout the Centre.

The Centre also has a weather station with 50 years of data, part of the Centre's strong research tradition. Equipment hire for those needing waterproofs and wellington boots, two drying rooms and Centre Shop are available on site.
