Epping Forest News

• FSC Epping Forest: A ‘leading edge’ Centre   ‘The overall provision is outstanding, with especial strengths in teaching, welfare, care, guidance, leadership and management.’ says Chris Warn, former senior OFSTED inspector following his evaluation on 10 and 11 February 2009
• Learning for Sustainability at Epping Forest   Our new Learning for Sustainability programme, at FSC Epping Forest, for years 5 and 6 encourages students to think about environment impacts and sustainability issues.
• Exciting New Courses at A-level & GCSE   At Epping Forest we have developed new courses to respond to the changing A level Geography specifications, including Extreme Weather and Rebranding Places, in addition to modifying the classic rivers course.
• Biology: Prepared for Specification Changes   Our Biology A-level programmes at Epping Forest have been rewritten to accommodate specification changes.
• Improvements in Digital Equipment   We have been updating our equipment, a bird box has been installed with inbuilt cctv to enable children to view any fledglings!
• Winter Improvements   Epping Forest Field Centre has been given a new look, with new displays making the building feel much brighter. Each classroom now has hand gel facilities to reduce pressure on hand washing facilities.
• New Outdoor Classrooms   Epping Forest Field Centre now has three fantastic new outdoor classrooms that are an excellent addition to the grounds as part of the ongoing programme of improvement and development.
• FSC Epping Forest awarded Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge   FSC Epping Forest in High Beach, Loughton is one of the first organisations in the country to be awarded the Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge, recognising it as a provider of quality, safely managed educational experiences for young people.
