Project Summary

This project is Phase II of the Samvardhan Project supported by the Community Fund. The project focuses on the tribal communities in the region of one of the three RHEIs from Phase I and works in more depth to bring abut quality of life improvements.

The long term change will be the enhanced social, economic, environmental and political sustainability of the poorest and most vulnerable tribal communities of Gujarat.

Project outcomes

  • Tribal village communities, both women will benefit through access to safe water that will enhance their primary health.
  • Tribal village communities will benefit through improved natural resource management practices and productivity that will enhance their income generation and their quality of life.
  • Children in tribal communities will benefit through gaining greater life opportunities as a result of better education brought about by improvements in access, effectiveness and relevance of education for tribal children.
