This course is aimed at those who want to involve students/visitors in outdoor learning experiences. It will focus on approaches to planning and delivering engaging activities to school childen and other age groups. A number of activities will be examined to address different objectives and learning styles. This course is suitable for those with little or no experience in outdoor education yet wish to engage students/visitors of all ages in the natural world around them. It is recommended, but not essential, that participants consider taking the follow-up course 'Engaging People in Enviromental Activities' building on the basics with a focus on meeting expectations of customers and fulfilling health and safety requirements.
This course runs from 09.30 to 16.00 and includes lunch at a local public house.
Hannah Rose has been working for Epping Forest Field Centre for the past seven years, through which she has gained a vast amount of experience delivering environmental-based teaching sessions to groups of all ages in the outdoor environment
