This course, formally recognised by BTO, is designed especially for those who have held a BTO Ringing Permit for at least two years (and as such is NOT on this occasion open to novice ringers).
The focus will be on developing your ringing knowledge, skills and competencies and particularly those expected of a Ringing Trainer, either for now or in the future.
With the support of their own Trainers, participants can be assessed for Permit Upgrades if they wish: from ‘T’ to ‘C’, from ‘C’ to ‘A’ or from ‘A’ to a Trainer endorsement.
Weather permitting, we intend to demonstrate ringing mainly at Flatford Mill, but may also visit Landguard Bird Observatory on the Suffolk coast if conditions are more appropriate there.
Note that the course starts at 1400 on Friday and ends at 1400 on Sunday.
Visit the Ringers’ Pages of the BTO website for more details and an application form.
‘Trainers all kind, generous, patient and knowledgeable’. Novices course participant, July 2011
BTO Trainers will be on hand throughout the weekend to share their experiences of the Trainer role.
Please note that the course fees for this weekend are heavily subsidised due to the generosity of an individual sponsor with a special interest in encouraging ringers to share their knowledge and expertise with others.
This course is now historical and therefore no bookings can be taken.
