  • Non-Resident: £295
  • Sole Occupancy: £375
  • Shared Room: £335

Pembrokeshire has an excellent range of coastal habitats and you will see this distinctive flora at its best in May.

Britain is an island with an intricate and varied coastline where climate, geology and biology interact to produce a fascinating variety of coastal habitats inhabited by a range of distinct species. This course will focus upon identification of the plants of coastal habitats while developing a fuller understanding of the plant communities of Britain's wonderful coastline.

Close to Orielton are examples of three of the major coastal types, saltmarsh, sand dunes and cliffs, which in turn are home to a wide range of plants. These will be visited to gain an understanding of the contrasting flora in these wonderful habitats (some of the best in Britain).

No previous knowledge is assumed and sympathetic and experienced tuition will make the transition from novice to expert a smooth and enjoyable one.

Paul Ashton is Reader in Botany at Edge Hill University with many years’ experience in teaching field courses.
