Field Studies Council: Bringing Environmental Understanding to All

Identifying Sedges and Rushes

  • Non-Resident: £310
  • Shared Room: £350
  • Sole Occupancy: £390

Visiting a selection of wonderful Pembrokeshire habitats including wet heath, fen, saltmarsh and woodland, this course aims to provide a clear introduction to these two groups of fascinating plants. Following field visits time will be spent using keys and dissecting specimens to learn terminology. This combination of field and lab work will demystify these plants and show that their reputation for difficulty is undeserved.

Paul Ashton is Reader in Botany at Edge Hill University with many years experience in teaching field courses.
