This course offers the chance to study Shropshire's wealth of freshwater habitats boasting a total of 29 different species of dragonflies and damselflies. All are visibly stunning and amazing to watch as they fly over ponds, rivers and upland flushes of the county. Emphasis will be on field identification and appreciation of the ecology of these beautiful and primitive insects, as well as discussions on habitat management and conservation.
Ian Cheeseborough is a self-employed entomologist. He has been studying Odonata - for the past 19 years and was previously county recorder for this group of insects.
