This course would suit both beginners and experienced students and involves field collection and examination of myxomycetes and microfungi. This will be followed by laboratory sessions and standard reference material to compare features and identify specimens. Moist chamber technique will also be available. There will be informal lectures and one-to-one tuition to augment the field visits. There will also opportunities to study a wide range of microfungi, especially plant parasites.
Bruce Ing is retiring Professor of Environmental Biology at Chester University. He is perhaps best known as a mycologist with a special interest in myxomycetes having published the standard book on British species in 1999.
