Site Assessment methods using vegetation can be approached in many ways. This course is designed to help students in developing higher level botany field survey and analysis skills. It will include NVC surveys and species characteristic surveys such as Ellenburg and axiophytes . There will be a mixture of fieldwork (with guidance on how to collect, observe and record in the field) and indoor sessions, plus talks and workshops on manipulating data. This course is part of the MSc in Biological Recording run by the University of Birmingham.
