This accredited course is run jointly with the University of Birmingham. The course will be particularly useful to countryside professionals and is intended for those with some knowledge of botanical terminology; it is designed for anyone who would like to increase their confidence in working with a flora as a means of identifying and getting to know more about our wonderful yet dwindling heritage of wild flowers. At Slapton we will find no shortage of material to work with. Ros will make every effort to find as wide a variety of plants as possible. In this way participants will have the chance to become familiar with the key characters (and how to study them) of many families and genera. Familiarity with the flower certainly turns a somewhat daunting prospect into an irresistible pastime.

Ros Bennett is a freelance botanist, ecologist, former member of the FSC staff, and an experienced tutor in the UK and overseas. She has written books on flowers and has taught courses on wild flowers to all age groups.
