This is a family course designed to be a great introduction to wildlife watching in general. So if you're keen to learn about anything from bird watching, moth trapping, pond dipping, bat detecting and a whole lot more, but don't have the confidence or know where to start, then this is the one for you.
Aimed at any age from 8 years and over, it will serve as an introduction to the tricks, skills and use of equipment available to a modern naturalist. The aim is to empower both the younger generation and their parents with the knowledge and confidence to explore their world and have fun doing it.
Nick Baker is a Devon based naturalist, broadcaster and author and has been leading family courses for the Field Studies Council for over 15 years. Best known for his TV work from the BBC's Really Wild Show'and presently Weird Creatures for Animal Planet - he is a 'real' naturalist with a particular penchant for sharing his favourite subjects with others - namely British Wildlife.
