The course will include countryside walks to study the special species of butterflies and moth identification of this beautiful area. Help on moth identification and information on the species and their habitat requirements will be provided. Electric observation lights will be operated in the Blencathra grounds and at Witherslack to attract a wide variety of moths. Morning inspection of the light traps will be followed by visits to special habitats at Braithwaite Moss and Meathop Moss to study butterflies. Evening talks will be fully illustrated with colour slides.

David Brown is a former teacher with over 20 years’ experience. He is the Warwickshire County Recorder for butterflies and moths.
