This course is suitable for all abilities since there will be time for everyone to learn or practise the appropriate skills they need to design and create at least one leaded stained glass panel. Basic design concepts, different types of glass, glass cutting and leading techniques will all be covered so that you can design, assemble and finish at least one complete coloured panel during the week. Please expect to reimburse the tutor for the cost of materials you use, which will vary according to the size of panel you work on, but is likely to be between £30 and £50.

Carole Gray is a designer and maker of decorative stained glass, who uses many of the traditional techniques practised by stained glass artists over the centuries to create work which is highly contemporary and decorative. She also has extensive experience teaching these techniques.

Her own style of work is abstract and inspiration comes from a wide range of sources. Colour, repeating patterns and decorative motifs are a common theme throughout. Carole is as happy using strong, vibrant colours as with a cool, calm and restrained palette.

She is listed on the Crafts Council Registernd is a member of the Contemporary Glass Society and the British Society of Master Glass Painters.
