An introduction to identification of moths for people who have never looked at them before or who feels they are improving their knowledge. It will also be ideal for anyone who has not been looking at moths for long or wants to revisit moths after a time away. The course will start from basics and show you how to identify live moths caught during your stay at the Centre. In addition it will take you through how to choose the best moth trap to use, what field guide to buy and useful websites for help. In short – everything you need to get started or advance your skills, whether you want to start looking in your garden or in a local nature reserve and Juniper Hall with its varied habitats is the ideal setting for this course.

Dave Grundy is an experienced naturalist and wildlife consultant specialising in bird, butterfly and moth surveying. He has a particular interest in moths from these habitats having studied them extensively in limestone grassland habitats of the Cotswolds, Peak District, the Burren and other areas across Britain and Ireland.
