This level 3, 3 day accredited course will delve into, what challenges us as leaders in the outdoors, looking at causes and ways of dealing with real life scenarios. We will look at certain behaviour types and how to work with these – moving towards an 'equal learning community'. The course will also look at de-escalation techniques, policies, support for this type of work and ways of motivating young people, all in the outdoor environment. In order to gain the accreditation participants will apply the learning after the course, in their work, and produce a small amount of written work. "this has been a life-changing and psyche-changing three days for me, my learners and family. It has shown me how important the outdoors is for our mental and physical health and what a regulator it can be for behaviour management…..better than any OFSTED regulation!" Course participant, Autumn 2015.
