An introduction to brown, red and green seaweed identification, focusing on recognisable species in the field such as the wracks and kelps and other species requiring more detailed examination in the lab using keys and microscopes. Topics including the evolution of seaweeds, their classification, reproduction and zonation will be covered through informative talks and discussion.
Jane Pottas is a teacher with experience working in schools and university. Then she discovered seaweeds. She now has a PhD in phycology and is currently Secretary of the British Phycological Society.
