Field Studies Council: Bringing Environmental Understanding to All

Courses for new GCSE geography specifications

FSC have launched a programme of geography fieldwork opportunities for key stage 4 students, designed for the new geography specifications which were finalised in February 2016.

Tailored courses have been developed by our experienced teaching staff for each exam board in England and Wales to meet the requirements of the specification. Our geography fieldwork courses can help:

  • cover all the geography fieldwork requirements for the GCSE, which requires fieldwork to be carried out on two separate occcasions in two contrasting locations.
  • learn and apply fieldwork skills in real world locations.
  • develop students' geographical, mathematical and statistical skills.
  • inspire and engage students with geography and give them lasting memories.

Every geography fieldwork course will also cover every stage of the geographical enquiry process, to help students with the fieldwork knowledge required for their exam. In England this is worth 15% and for Wales 20%.
