Inspirational IB fieldwork
Inspire your students on one of a new range of IB fieldwork courses which have been launched by Field Studies Council (FSC).
The range of IB courses are designed specifically to meet the syllabus requirements of the IB Diploma programme in IB Biology, IB Geography and IB Environmental Systems and Societies.
Fieldwork is an important part of the IB Internal Assessment in Geography, Biology and ESS. IB fieldwork courses with FSC allow you to complete the necessary fieldwork required for IB Internal Assessment, as well as enhancing and bringing to life the syllabus content for students.
The UK has a huge variety of habitats and stunning scenery for your students to explore. FSC has 17 Centres located in all parts of the UK so you can easily tie in your IB course with visiting other cities or regions. It is also simple to plan your journey by road or train within the country or from outside the UK to any major airports including Belfast, Edinburgh and London.

FSC has been working with IB schools for many years. Our staff visit countries including Thailand, Singapore, Switzerland and Taiwan, offering training for IB teachers and passing on their expertise in leading IB fieldwork. Many IB Diploma schools attend FSC Centres to carry out fieldwork already including schools from the UK, Europe and further afield.
St Andrew’s School in Dublin visit FSC Derrygonnelly in Northern Ireland to undertake IB Diploma Geography fieldwork. Their IB Geography Teacher said “I have always been impressed with FSC’s ability to tailor the study to precisely what I’m looking for”.
