New AIDGAP guide to British Plant Galls
The second edition of the popular AIDGAP guide British Plant Galls has been launched by the Field Studies Council (FSC). Containing around 300 keys to galls the guide is a great tool for identifying the many colourful and unusual specimens found on plants in Britain.
Arranged alphabetically by the genus of the host plant the guide is designed for naturalists who may be familiar with the bizarre and often colourful oak apples, marble galls, robin's pin cushions, rosettes and bean galls on oaks, wild roses and willows, and wish to discover more about them.
In 2002 the first edition of this publication was well-received, increasing interest in plant galls and leading to the discovery of more galls. This fully revised second edition includes expanded keys to incorporate changes in nomenclature which have accumulated since the previous edition. Additional galls have been illustrated and many figures replaced with new drawings based on British specimens.

Environmental charity the FSC is a leading producer of identification guides which cover all aspects of the natural world, from fold out charts to detailed AIDGAP guides, such as this one, and RES guides. All publications are produced to an excellent standard with beautiful illustrations and content developed by experts.
British Plant Galls (2nd edition) is available to order direct from the FSC for £28 plus postage either through the website or by phoning 01952 208910.
