15 Young Darwin Scholarships Awarded

The 2015 Young Darwin Scholarships have been awarded to 15 young people who have shown a deep interest in the natural world.

Now in its fourth year the FSC Young Darwin Scholarship, once again, attracted a high level of interest and applications from 16 and 17 year olds from throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

This year's Young Darwin Scholars (YDS) will attend their introductory residential in August at FSC Preston Montford near Shrewsbury - the town where Charles Darwin spent his childhood.

While the 2015 YDS walk in Darwin's footsteps YDS from previous years will be using their annual scholarship bursary to attend courses at FSC Centres. Three YDS will spend five days on a natural history course at FSC Kindrogan and others will take part in the Marine Science Camp at FSC Dale Fort in Pembrokeshire.

The Young Darwin Scholarship aims to nurture these enthusiastic and knowledgeable young people at a critical period when they are making education and career choices.  Find out more about the Young Darwin Scholarship here
