Save field biology skills
FSC's Biodiversity Learning Manager Sue Townsend has contributed to a fascinating piece in Times Higher Education this week calling to save biology field skills from extinction risk.
The piece discusses the significance of having people with field identification skills and some of the reasons we may have reached this situation.
Sue said: "This issue is very close to the heart of FSC. We work in all kinds of ways to improve field skills from free training days at our local centres to delivering an MSc in Biological Recording in partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University. It's great to be able to raise this issue to a wider forum through the Times Higher Education."
