The future of Biological Recording and Species Identification
The University of Birmingham and FSC met again in early January and are continuing to work closely together to ensure the future of the Biological Recording and Species Identification programmes.
Active recruitment is continuing on the certificate (UCert) programmes and all students, including those currently enrolled on the Masters programme, will be able to complete their courses over the next two years. The long-term options under discussion include the transference of the existing courses to another university provider and/or the development of further course validation and direction responsibilities within the FSC. All options will retain accreditation – the academic ‘stamp of approval’ – by a partner university.

More progress is expected by mid-February 2012.
