With its proximity to the coast, Orielton has a huge variety of fieldwork sites that are used by visiting groups. Ecologists and Biologists take full advantage of the mixture of sheltered and exposed Rocky shores, as well as sand dunes, salt marshes, freshwater streams, coniferous and deciduous woodlands and limestone coastal habitats within the stunning Stackpole Estate. The geographers use large areas of the county for an array of topics including coastal processes and management, fluvial systems, rural issues, tourism, rebranding and regeneration, urban decline and succession studies.
