Edexcel Geography
FSC programmes are fixed length courses with clearly stated outcomes linked to curriculum specification requirements.
Specific programmes have been developed for those studying AS and A2 Geography, following the Edexcel specification, to enable teachers to quickly and easily book a residential fieldtrip, safe in the knowledge that it will be directly related to work taught in the classroom and will contribute to achieving Edexcel specification requirements.
Achieving Edexcel specification requirements
Fieldwork is compulsory in Edexcel AS Unit 2 (Geographical Investigations). This unit is assessed in a 1 hour exam with two sections. Students answer one physical management question from Section A and one human management question from Section B. Each question will include the assessment of investigation and evaluation skills.
- Physical topics: EITHER Extreme Weather OR Crowded Coasts
- Human topics: EITHER Unequal Spaces OR Rebranding Places
FSC programmes are designed to cover the fieldwork for each topic in two days. A five day course will deliver all the fieldwork needed for the Unit 2 exam.
AS Programmes

Extreme Weather, Applied Geography Skills

One day programme:
Unequal Spaces, Applied Geography Skills
Students will compare locations, using a variety of sources of data including census data and observations of environmental and housing quality. A study into the inequalities of the local area will include research into access to services and how groups within society are excluded due to factors such as income, age and health.
