AQA Geography
AQA A Three day programme:
Fieldwork Investigation in Physical Geography
Students will undertake an investigation on water on the Land, the coastal zone (both topics from Section B of Unit 1, Physical Geography) or Tourism (from Section B of Unit 2, Human Geography). This investigation will prepare students for the Local fieldwork investigation (controlled assessment). Students will also complete two part day investigations to increase their awareness of other physical and human environments.
AQA A Five day programme:
Fieldwork Investigations in Physical and Human Geography
Students will undertake at least two fieldwork investigations which meet the requirements of the AQA A controlled assessment (with the titles changing annually) giving students a choice of write up topics. These topics also build on understanding required within Unit 1 (Physical Geography) and Unit 2 (Human Geography). There is also of choice of half day topics to help students build their case study knowledge for these two Units.
AQA B Three day programme:
Managing Places and the Controlled Assessment
This programme prepares students for the controlled assessment, through a fieldwork investigation in either a coastal or urban environment, which links to the content specified within Unit 3 (Managing Places and Resources in the 21st Century). Students will also get the opportunity to conduct a part day study of either tourism (part of Unit 2, A shrinking World) or the water cycle part of Unit 3 (Managing Places and resources).
