WJEC Geography Fieldwork

FSC programmes are fixed length courses with clearly stated outcomes linked to curriculum specification requirements.

Specific programmes have been developed for those studying AS and A2 Geography, following the WJEC specification, to enable teachers to quickly and easily  book a residential fieldtrip, safe in the knowledge that it will be directly related to concepts taught in the classroom and will contribute to achieving WJEC specification requirements.

Achieving WJEC AS specification requirements
At AS, students will carry out a fieldwork enquiry for both Unit G1 (Changing Physical Environments) and Unit G2 (Changing Human Environments) as this will be assessed in Question 3 in each of the unit exams.

There is considerable evidence that a fieldwork trip is a highlight of student’s Geography A-level. Therefore, offering a fieldwork experience at AS level may increase recruitment to A2 level

Achieving WJEC A2 specification requirements

For Section B (Individual Research Enquiry) students will carry out individual fieldwork research. One of the themes specified in Section A (‘Landforms and their management’) will also be covered.
