Passionate About Place, 1 day1 day

This course will make use of the spectacular landscapes that FSC learning locations give access to. Students will immerse themselves in the environment, collecting their own first hand data from sites that focus on either human or physical processes. Students will explore the importance of the interaction between the two to deepen their understanding of geographical processes. They will also be encouraged to be curious, to ask questions related to their understanding of place and to work effectively with others in the collection and presentation of data.

They will also be encouraged to be curious, to ask questions related to their understanding of place and to work effectively with others in the collection and presentation of data.

Technology in Geography, 3 days3 day

Students will work together to discover more about their location and develop creative approaches to a real world scenario linked to it. They will have the chance to use exciting new technologies such as GIS, GPS, tablets and fieldwork apps. The course will also inspire students through spectacular landscapes which FSC learning locations gives access to.

Common Entrance Geography3 day

This course is designed to cover the Individual Fieldwork Enquiry for the Geography 13+ Common Entrance Exam. Students will have the opportunity to use their geographical knowledge to form a clear question for the investigation. They will participate in group data collection, justifying their methods and using a range of fieldwork equipment. Opportunities will be available to use ICT for data presentation and individual research. In addition students will complete a selection of investigations, linked to the syllabus, which will support and enrich their geographical knowledge and understanding.

Adventurous Geography, 3 days3 day

This course will fuse fieldwork with outdoor activities to give students the opportunity to explore real geographical contexts in an exciting and engaging way. The course allows students to get first hand experiences of a range of physical landscapes and processes and a unique insight into the interaction of people and the environment.  Students will be encouraged to develop their team skills and individual motivation whilst involved in activities that promote a healthy lifestyle.

Adventurous Geography, 4 days4 day

This course will fuse fieldwork with outdoor activities to give students the opportunity to explore real geographical contexts in an exciting and engaging way.  The course allows students to get first hand experiences of a range of physical landscapes and processes and a unique insight into the interaction of people and the environment. Individuals undertaking the programme will be encouraged to develop their team skills and individual motivation whilst involved in activities that promote a healthy lifestyle.
