Key Stage 3 Programmes

Laying foundations for future choices

It is during this critical stage that children will make their choices for the future. A residential experience can provide the inspiration which convinces them that geography is what they want to do!

FSC Key Stage 3 programmes are fixed length courses with clearly stated outcomes that enable teachers to quickly and easily  book a fieldtrip, safe in the knowledge that it will be directly related to work taught in the classroom and will contribute to achieving the curriculum. They can be adapted to suit year 7 groups as well as older pupils (years 8 + 9).

All Key stage 3 Programmes will include:

  • Clear progression from discovery fieldwork through teacher-led enquiry to independent investigations.
  • Clear links to QCA schemes of work.
  • Supported by focused resources, including ICT.

As well as covering specific elements of the geography curriculum all programmes also place a strong emphasis on developing personal confidence and team-building skills and an opportunity to consider aspects of Citizenship.
