All students will be able to
- identify, describe and understand how selected coastal features are formed along a designated stretch of coastline
- develop recording and measurement skills and research how the coastline has changed over time
- recognise that there may be different management options in some areas
Most students will be able to:
- understand the dynamic nature of short term coastal change
- use techniques such as EIA / cost-benefit to evaluate management strategies at selected locations
- recognise the relative importance of selected physical and human factors in the coastal environment chosen
Some students will be able to:
- relate the chosen stretch of coast to the shoreline management plan (SMP) for a designated littoral cell
- discuss future issue relating to coastal zone management including the impact of climate change
