Secondary Geography

With so much on offer, how do you decide which is the best course for you? You have two main choices:

CHOICE 1

The FSC PROGRAMMES

The exciting new choice!
  • FSC Standard Programmes are residential courses of fixed length ranging from 3-6 days in total.
  • These Programmes are available at Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and A level.  All the Programmes have a pre-defined framework which includes Introductory sessions, Core modules and Review sessions.
  • The Core modules are at the heart of our programmes. Across the FSC there are seven to choose from, although not all centres will offer all seven.
  • All Programmes have clearly stated learning outcomes and can be directly linked to curriculum and specification requirements. The FSC can, therefore, guarantee a consistently high quality fieldwork experience. Our courses are regularly updated to reflect changes in specifications and new demands such as vocational courses.

The Programme Framework

  • Setting the scene: location, sites and conditions
  • Resources and equipment
  • Skills and techniques
  • Enquiry methods

CORE MODULES

The core modules are at the heart of our programmes. Across the FSC there are seven to choose from, although not all centres will offer all seven. The longer you come, the more modules you will be able to include in your programme. We don’t believe that people come to the FSC to stay inside our field centres; that’s why we take great pride in taking our visitors to some special places and all of the modules are developed to make the most of the learning opportunities in the local environments surrounding each of our centres.
