Advanced Higher

FSC has developed specific courses for those studying Advanced Higher Biology to enable teachers to quickly and easily book a fieldtrip, safe in the knowledge that it will be directly related to work taught in the classroom and will contribute to achieving SQA Arrangement requirements.

Pilot Projects and Project Data Collection 3-days3 day

This course covers elements of the Environmental Biology course and each day is planned to reflect the Independent Study. Students of all abilities leave us with an improved knowledge of field-skills and an understanding of their application and analysis.

  • Biological sampling methods
  • Data collection using a range of fieldwork techniques
  • Analysis and presentation of data
  • Investigations into soils, hydroseral succession, freshwater pollution, exotic species and conservation
