Primary Cross-Curricular
FSC Primary programmes are fixed length residential courses with clearly stated outcomes. This enables teachers to book a residential field course, quickly and easily, safe in the knowledge that it will be related directly to your classroom teaching and contribute to achieving key aspects of the purpose, principles and outcomes of A Curriculum for Excellence.
As well as exploring the local environment – its landscapes, habitats and people through time - each programme places a strong emphasis on personal challenge – including developing self confidence, and problem solving, team-building, and risk assessment skills. Activities will also encourage cultural appreciation, sensory awareness, physical activity and well being, as well as more informed attitudes.
All programmes will give participants the opportunity to:
- Experience the natural world and a Scottish Highland landscape firsthand
- Understand simple concepts relating to landscapes, ecosystems, human interactions and sustainable development
- Develop and test informed attitudes through reflecting on spiritual, moral, cultural and social issues
- enjoy outdoor learning in a challenging, but safe and caring environment
- experience a healthy outdoor lifestyle, including the benefits of exercise and healthy eating
- develop a sense of place and belonging

Stepping up – Primary to Secondary Transition
Are you interested in forming a 'transition' group with your secondary school?
FSC offers Eco adventure programmes ideal for those pupils making the transition between P7 and S1
The FSC develops courses especially to meet the needs of the primary to secondary transition, following P7 pupils into S1 with appropriate projects and fieldwork. This could be an excellent opportunity to maintain pupil enthusiasm and interest through this challenging period.
