Field Studies Council: Bringing Environmental Understanding to All

S1 and S2

FSC cross curricular courses are designed to develop successful learners, confident individuals, effective contributors and responsible citizens in line with the principles, capacities, and relevant subject learning outcomes for Levels 2 and 3, in a Curriculum for Excellence. Courses can be tailored towards either the P7 to S1, or S1 to S2 transition.

Eco Adventure Courses - Environmental Discovery and Outdoor Adventure

FSC Eco Adventure courses combine investigating local environments with practical conservation and adventure activities. FSC Kindrogan offers a range of adventurous activities and is covered by AALA certification.  Activities are fully integrated to allow for progression throughout the course.

Eco-Adventure, 3 days3 day

This three day course combines elements of the subject based curriculum with adventure activities to aid students personal and social development.

  • Problem solving, and team building challenges
  • Investigation of stunning diverse Highland landscapes and habitats
  • Water based activities - canoeing or rafting
  • Ropes course challenge
  • Orienteering/ map reading
  • Hill walking

Eco-Adventure, 5 days5 day

This five day course combines elements of the subject based curriculum with adventure activities to aid students personal and social development. The longer course allows for a wider variety of activities.

  • Problem solving, and team building challenges
  • Investigation of stunning diverse Highland landscapes and habitats
  • Water based activities - such as canoeing and rafting
  • Ropes course challenge
  • Orienteering/ map reading
  • Hill and night hikes
  • Bushcraft, survival, and sustainable living
  • Nature conservation management
  • Reflective responses to the natural world
