Courses for teachers and students from the Irish Republic

Fieldwork can play a central role in many subjects and areas of teaching. There are opportunities at primary and secondary level. It has the capacity to develop skills and knowledge, and to bring abstract concepts to life. It provides a context in which students of all abilities can develop, and for some it can provide a lifelong inspiration.

That is why we would like to invite you to Derrygonnelly and Dale Fort - two of the Field Studies Council’s field centres which have developed courses especially for teachers and students from the Irish Republic. Both are accessible to many schools in the Republic. We pride ourselves on offering highly flexible and safe courses courses – so the choice of dates, lengths and content is up to you. There may be opportunities also to try out some other activities.

If you are still not sure, why not contact the centres to arrange a free visit. Alternatively, why not enrol on one of the free training weekends that each centre is running in this year. Places are free – the only cost you need to cover is travel. Why not bring a partner and make a holiday of it?
