Gordon and Woburn Squares are tightly locked between small side streets leading from one of the busiest roads in London. The pollution monitoring station on Euston Road, a short distance from the Squares, has recorded some of the highest levels of air pollutants in the capital. In this investigation, students collect data on the deposition of airborne particulates on trees and analyse their results within the wider context of choosing the best site for refreshment facilities in the Squares.
Full support is given for pre-visit work at school, data collection in the field, and post-visit work at school to put the fieldwork in its wider context. Extensive teacher guidance, with PowerPoint presentations, a full sample risk assessment and detailed plan of a sequence of lessons, are also available for download.
You can EITHER download all the teacher and student resources as a single pdf document OR download individual resources as editable (where applicable) text documents.
