Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park consists of 27 acres of woodland, grassland and meadows. This area has been a park since the cemetery closed in 1966. There is an Education Centre with classroom (the Soanes Centre) on site. Specially constructed ponds for pupils to use for sampling are also available.

In this complete investigation, with full pre-planning, fieldwork and post-fieldwork analysis and evaluation, pupils sample three aquatic habitats for invertebrates and abiotic factors.
