West Reservoir offers a variety of aquatic habitats: including a man-made river, a reservoir and a small pond. All the habitats are easily accessible and offer clear habitat variations for pupils to investigate. A full-time environmental educator is available for support (see contact details).

Comparison of differing aquatic habitats for biodiversity

In this complete investigation, with full pre-planning, fieldwork and post-fieldwork analysis and evaluation, pupils sample three aquatic habitats for invertebrates and abiotic factors.
