Field Studies Council: Bringing Environmental Understanding to All

Manchester Metropolitan University

FSC runs these highly successful Biological Recording and Species courses in partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU):

Certificate in Biological Recording and Species Identification
Offered through the School of Science and the Environment, this Certificate comprises 60 credits (level 1) which are taught at FSC Centres over a period of two years. The participants must register with the University and then enrol on their FSC chosen course from a list of pre-approved titles. To complete the Certificate students must also attend the core unit held at FSC Preston Montford.  There are over 30 courses available offering a wealth of choice and venues to enjoy two years of accredited study at your leisure.

MSc Biological Recording
The University is also offering a taught Masters course, which is run from FSC Preston Montford.

Both qualifications are gaining increasing recognition by employers such as government agencies, enviornmental consultants, councils and record centres. They are strongly vocational courses - offering participants a chance to upgrade their skills and and gain a recognised qualification.
